The general contractors were Kapsch Carrier Com and Torpol SA. FONBUD was a subcontractor responsible for two sections: Poznan Antoninek- Poznan Gorczyn and in and around Kutno. The works were carried out in highly urbanized areas while the railway lines were still in constant use which ruled out the possibility of using large digging equipment. Carrying out manual excavations minimized the risk of damage to the existing infrastruture. Because of these restrictions FONBUD was the only company willing to undertake the job. Overall, between March and September 2015, FONBUD built over 77 km of the GSM-R network on both sides of the railway lines.
